We stayed overnight in Munich and traveled from there to Fussen by train in the morning (not that early), We pre-purchased the train ticket online a month earlier, only costed us 10EUR/person, from Munchen Hbf to and fro Fussen.
We felt that we should have planned to go to Fussen earlier in the morning as we didn't pre-purchased both the castle tickets yet. So, this sort of made us wasted our time lining up for a FREAKING 2 hours plus, and sunbathing under the hot sun, just to get the tickets purchased. --- BIG MISTAKE!
We were basking under the freakin' hot sun, and I could tell you that it was ridiculously hotter than the tropical weather in Malaysia! wtf?! *unbelievable* Lol~
I seriously think that I became more tan than I used to be...almost like the colour of the milk chocolate drink cause I could see a transparent fairer line on my skin as I wore a spaghetti strap clothing over with a cardigan (in case it was chilly during the summer).
Then, we got down from Fussen and followed the crowd by walking to the side of the train station, where we got to hop on the bus to Hohenschwangau Castle, Alpseestraße (for around 10 min drive by the bus driver). The bus fare was inclusive with the train price. So, just need to show the printed tickets to the driver. Indeed, we think that it was a good buy, seeing that we only wanted to spend half a day there.
HOLY COW....it was a darn long queue and this was just the beginning of the line! ;') |
Me, stopping by for currywurst quick bite while joining the queue... |
Okay, the queue was still crazy. As if it was like free tours distribution. |
Almost reaching the ticket counters |
Finally, we've got our tickets! Hoorayy~ |
For each castle, one only gets to spend around 45 min for the guided tour (Sorry, you won't be able to roam at both inside the castles, unguided EXCEPT for the garden and its vicinity area). haha~
Okay, so both castles are like located at a total different area, like one East and then another at West. However, we shall start with the Hohenschwangau Castle first. |
The Hohenschwangau Castle, the childhood residence of King Ludwig II of Bavaria. |
At last, I was here! *smilesss* |
In terms of the architectural, the son's castle has already been built on top of the steep hill in those days. it's astonishingly to find that up to today, those castles still stood steadily and proudly, up on the hill unlike the buildings in this modern century, they do not last long enough to allow our grandchildren and great..great grandchildren to see them. FTS~
Besides that, you couldn't take pictures of the interior design when you're touring through the castles. However, during the time I was touring, I did see a couple of tourists did quietly snapped pictures which the tour guide didn't manage to see. Seriously wtf?! Damn ignorant~ After seeing them doing so, I have thought of doing it too, cause this might be my once in a lifetime to preserve my memories...Well, I had no guts and moreover, my conscience told me not to do so! FML. hahaha~
I wish I have that view to look at, when I woke up every morning! *dreaming* =) |
Overlooking both the Hohenschwangau & Neuschwantein Castle. |
The scaffolded castle which was under renovation in 2012 for around a year. |
The Swan Fountain @ the Schloss Garden (this swan statue which is at the castle somehow reminded me of the Cave of the Golden Rose series) |
Me, with a pair of lovely boobie hills at the background. LMAO~ |
The lake at Alpseebad (sounds so sinbad). lol~ |
I wishhh that I could be a princess XD |
A sight of Neuschwanstein Castle |
The hills are alive even in Germany (not only at Salzburg) :P |
The entrance to the Neuschwanstein Castle |
I feel as if I was in a medieval movie...sitting and galloping on a horse entering the main gateway to a castle (a princess thought). LOL! |
A replica of the Neuschwanstein Castle, around the exit area. |
We didn't get to take better pictures of the Castle and its vicinity area which inspires Waltz Disney too.
In general, the castles close at around 6.00pm. By the time we finishes our tour, it was around 6.30pm, which was almost time for us to head back to the train station. After that time, one bad thing was that there were no horse wagon or bus services to take you down the hill to the base of Hohenschwangau area. We walked all the way down, but it was all good and breezy~~ Just like an evening stroll or an exercise. We went there during summer 2012!
Lovely view around the castle vicinity area. |
Overlooking the Neuschwantein Castle |
Anyway, it's really a great experience to be able to get to this inspirational castles to observe its remarkable structures! *wheeeee* ^.^
We couldn't expect more as we just decided to go there for half a day's tour.
I hope to return back to Fussen next time so that I could get a clearer view of the whole Neushschwanstein Castle from the Queen Mary's Bridge (Marienbrucke), which we didn't have the chance to do so~ There were quite a couple of obstacles as we were traveling with a senior citizen with walking problem, so this was quite a remarkable tour in which we succeeded in doing without any significant trouble.
Other than that, there was the Alpsee scenic view too, which we didn't get to spend more time to observe its beautiful view, in which we just past by while on our way down from Hohenschwangau Castle at another side as we were all rushing to another castle. T.T
Note: Advice to plan your time well (possibly get up & out earlier than the usual time), if you would want to spend the most out of it in Fussen or at any other travel destinations!
In case you would wish to visit this place, check out the legal website to those castles.
