If you couldn't locate where New Lane is, look up for Sunway Hotel, you'll then be able to find these hawker stalls which are put up at along the half of the lane where the hotel is located. You could also easily spot them as they are all brightly lit up in white fluorescent lamps.
However, the prices of the food are slightly on the touristy prices. So, be cautious, look at the signboard first/ ask before you placed your order!
The food are MOSTLY NICE and also you would be able to find a wide range of local food sold at one area!
You name it, they have it there mostly~~ The ones I usually ordered are e.g. Chinese dessert soup (almond & "yau char kwai"/peanut/longan soup), lor bak, char kuey teow, satay, Northern style chee cheong fun, Northern style curry mee.
"Lorong" in Malay language = Lane
"Baru" in Malay Language = New
If I'm not mistaken, these hawker stalls close on every Wednesday.
New Lane |
Beef Kuey Teow Soup @ RM7/ bowl (small) The broth was really delicious & quite thick. It was full of beef flavour. The meat was really tender & juicy too. All in all, it was really yummy! |
Beef Kuey Teow Soup |
Blanched Cuttlefish & Water Spinach drenched in some peanut sauce @ RM10/ plate. |
Map directions to New Lane Hawker Centre. It's on the same lane where Sunway Hotel is situated at. |
