T.G.I. Friday's @ Ground Floor of Gurney Paragon, Alfresco Area: Dinner Time

Since today is a Friday, I'll just blog about this eatery at the Gurney Paragon. The eatery outlet is known as T.G.I. Friday's! I just did a research, this outlet is actually an American restaurant in which it is franchised all across the globe. It was first founded in New York, back in 1965.
To me here, we often make jokes as TGIF = Thank God It's Friday. LoL~ wtf! True also right?! XD

If you feel like having a Western meal, do drop by at T.G.I.F near your place and you'll thank god that it's friday la! :P
Here's what we had for our dinner.

Strawberry Lemonade Slush
#sourishiceblended love affair #appetite stimulation & digestion
Bruschetta as a starter with balsamic sauce#simple #yummy #crunchy
(Most Wanted) Tennessee Steak#mediumcooked #beef  #tendermeat #mashedpotatoes #mixedgrilledvegetables #delicious-oh
When ordering steak, I recommend to go for medium-cooked! The meat tasted tender and quite juicy.
My friend likes it cooked this way too. :)

You can also have your happy hour drink as in alcohols here too!
If you're a frequent diner, do not hesitate to be a member. So that you could enjoy a 10% rebate every time you dine in here! When it's your birthday month, you would get a RM30 cash voucher for usage. :)

Before leaving, I must  take some pics first! LOL!
White tee from MNG Mango.
I end the blog for tonight with this food eatery at this outlet~ And yeahhhh, TGIF...TGIF...TGIF today! ^.^

Marriage D'amour Piano Piece

I just started to practice again on the piano after stopping for around 11 years. And I've never maintained the piano ever since..so, it's quite out of tune and you might be able to hear some cymbals in the background. haha~

This piece I really love it as it's really sound so soothing to the heart and very sweetly for walking down the wedding aisle!
However, be warned, I'm not Richard Clayderman though & you might tumble and fall upon walking on the aisle after hearing this. LMAO~
Marriage D'amour, a composition by Paul de Senneville, which was made famous by Richard Clayderman, the pianist for all time!
A short clip just to boost my confidence back! Kudos! :D

The Penang Philharmonic Jazz Orchestra: Once A Month Jazz Music

If you're happened to be traveling to Penang, Malaysia, feel free to arrange your time well for this once a month jazz music by the Penang Philharmonic Jazz Orchestra.
It's happening at the end of every month and it's free! :D
They are actually practicing their music with live crowds around in order to build up confidence in their musicians! Therefore, attire could be casual or as long as you feel comfortable yourself.

The Percussion Ensemble members performance
The few members of the wind members strutting their stuffs - Quartet!
At the time we attended, it was coincided with the International Jazz Music Festival which was on the 30th April!
So, there were duets, quartets, a couple of singers performing in English and also in the Malay languages, percussion ensemble itself and wind orchestra involving woodwind, brass and percussion member families.
The jazz music played were all simply lively & joyful such as the New Orleans, Ballads, Bossa Nova and ABBA! =)

I just newly discover that I love their percussion ensemble music!
It was an awesome night to end the day with~

Once A Month Jazz Music
Remember to drop by if you happened to visit the town in the Pearl of the Orient ya! :D

Chocolate Passion @ Level 6, Gurney Paragon: Tea Break with Spanish Churros

Recently, it so happened that we wanted to have only tea break, and so we suggested to try at the Chocolate Passion!

The menu
Before dropping by for a tea break or dessert, next to Chocolate Passion, there is a place called Penang on 6, housing small boutique clothing  & accessories shops like in a street bazaar.
The wallpapers placed on walls feature heritage buildings such as the traditional Chinese houses, like the one at my background in the picture.
There is a rocking wooden chair placed for the kids or for the grown-up adults (like me!! haha~ wtf~) to have their photo snapping session.

It's a dine-in shop which only sells dessert and chocolates for the choco lovers to stop by to have their tea breaks. :D
At the time we went for our tea break, it was around 5-ish and it was so crowded with family members, lovers and teenagers~ Luckily, we managed to get a place to sit just in front of the counter! ;)

Part of the counter area
The dessert place is quite spacious, located at the corner lot of the Gurney Paragon building. They even have chairs & tables placed on the balcony area at open air. The view is overlooking the Penang sea, part of the Straits of Malacca. If the weather was cooling enough, it should be a nice view, romantic place for the lovey-doveys! ;)

We had our order and payment made at the counter itself for Churros, a glass of Avocado Chocolate Ice Blended and a glass of Iced Lemonade. Tea break what! :P

The illustrated picture of the Churros in the menu.
Only if you're interested with their Cold Beverages.
Smoothies & Choctail Menu
My glass of Avocado Chocolate Ice Blended came roughly after 15 min after the order has been placed. I feel that it was a delicious, nutritional healthy drink!
It was drizzled with slight choco syrup which gave flavour to the tasteless but rich & creamy texture of the blended raw avocado! Surprisingly, it wasn't cloying at all and I find it really yummy! My friend also agreed to the deliciousness of this drink too. *thumbs up*
Some research showed that a high avocado intake would be able to lower your blood cholesterol level. Well, I believe in eating averagely in the daily food intake. Too much of something will eventually become bad or lead to accumulation of toxicity unless your body is in a dire need for nutrition because of suffering from some kind of diseases!

The overall look of the Avocado Choco Ice Blended
The top part sprayed with white cream and dusted with chocolate powder.

Next came the Iced Lemonade after an approximately of 45 min of waiting on the couch. I had to particularly gave a reminder to the person over at the counter. I think they were out of workers to handle the crowded customers situation. Nothing to shout out about the normal cold beverage. Lemonade of course tasted sourish. I like the sourish taste as I find that it's good to ease my digestion, appetite and probably would do some antibacteria for my body system! :P

Lastly, we were waiting for an hour just for our churros, the Spanish pastry! By the time it was served to us, it was already 7.00pm! It was supposed to be dinner time then~ :/
We almost felt disappointed with this restaurant for the waiting time.
However, the churros served tasted really delicious! Luckily, it didn't disappoint us with the taste. We felt like it was freshly made, right from the oven! The long exterior part tasted a bit crispy and the interior filling tasted chewy with a hint of sweet potato in my opinion. Although, I'm not fully sure what is it made of.
Anyway, churros refer to the Spanish pastry fried doughnut and we are supposed to dip each churro into the liquefy dark chocolate, milk chocolate or white chocolate provided. We chose the white chocolate dip! Ooooooo...mMmmmm...It was a white chocolatey lickin' good affair! LOL~
I always liked to eat white chocolate, especially the ones from Toblerone (the Swiss chocolate brand) and coincidentally, I just discovered that my dining mate loves white chocolate too! So, that's great!

The Spanish Churros pastry sprinkled with some Cinnamon sugar and dipping into the White Chocolate Dip provided
#yummy #delicious #finga' lickin'good #firsttimetaste
Another angle of the Churros
IMHO, I think their service wasn't up to the normal preferred standard for that day, otherwise, it would really be a good dessert or tea break place for rendezvous with friends, families, lovers and perhaps for those with stress (as chocolate is known to help releasing endorphin into the brain, possible to give an immediate effect of a euphoric rush?)! =)
Therefore, I hope to see their improvement in the near future when I do visit this outlet again~

I end this blog for tonight with this heat map picture.
To Love Me or Not to Love Me?!?~~ haha~

TWG Tea @ Ground Floor of Gurney Paragon: Lunch Dining for Mother's Day Celebration

I just got to know that The Wellness Group Tea Company is acronymed/ abbreviated as TWG Tea after doing some research and having dined in this classic, shiny & golden lighted restaurant!
Dining in this place somehow made you feel that you're from a class of a higher status. Exquisite! XD

Part of the interior design of the tea restaurant
Impressive Sliding Cabinets/ Shelves for the teas
TWG Tea is actually a Singaporean-based luxury tea company with several tea salons and product distribution in many countries across the globe. This outlet at the Gurney Paragon, Penang is just newly opened in December 2013. The outlet is not really that wide, tables are also limited and it has always been full house ever since it started its operation.
Therefore, if you feel like dining at TWG or whichever place that is famous, you gotta arrive at the restaurant earlier than the usual peak hours, otherwise, be prepared to queue up for hours. lol~ wtf~ ;)

The queue, snapped while we were exiting the outlet. :P
TWG Tea Menu
OK, I'll get straight to the order now~ So, the mothers chosen the Crispy Seared Salmon, served with shimeiji mushroom, green asparagus, fennel & carrots sauteed in Silver Moon Tea infused with Beurre Blanc (apparently known as white butter) as their main course. Normally, from what I could tell, Asians skip starters as our stomachs are quite small. We are normally small eaters! Even with the main meals, we probably wouldn't be able to finish off with our glass of drinks. o_O lol~
I ordered TWG Tea Seaside Linguini. It's the linguini pasta sauteed with shrimps, mussel in Red Chai infused tomato sauce. I find this tea restaurant very unique as every single food menu of theirs are infused with some tea flavours in it, I guess it's probably to make those food very flavourful. ;)

The typical pose! And so I made it into the form of a pencil sketch. Blek!

I got mesmerised with the golden teapot!!!! Saw my reflection from the golden teapot.
Fairy Goldmother, where are you?!? lol~ :P
The food was good! Nothing to complaint about. =)

As for the drinks, I ordered two pots of tea which came in two types, the black tea & green tea!
As for the black tea, the flavour was quite strong! I chose the Passion fruit black tea.
As for the green tea, the flavour was quite light. The waiter recommended Tea Number 10. It smelled very fragrant and tasted very flavourful with some honey in it, although it didn't actually taste sweet at all. I particularly prefer the green tea type of tea. :)
There was a pot of sugar cubes placed on the table, so pls feel free to add sugar according to your own taste! I was told that each teapot could serve up to 2 and a half cup of tea.

Pouring the green tea light; Tea Number 10 flavour onto the custom-made TWG tea cup.
Tea Number 10 (cream colour top golden teapot) & Passion fruit tea (black colour top golden teapot)
Custom made rubbish bin!
Custom-made cutlery too!XD
After finishing off with the meal, I took the opportunity to order their macarons as I was told by my friend that TWG is famous for their macarons. So, I need to taste it for myself and so I ordered 3 flavours of macarons, which were the Passion fruit (in purple colour), Matcha (in green colour) and the Lemon flavour (in yellow colour). Actually, this was my second time tasting macarons. I had macaron for the first time (without an "s") when I was in South Korea!
I like the one in Matcha flavour as it didn't particularly tasted that sweet as compared to the other two flavours of macarons. It was crunchy & crispy at the outer part and it melted easily when you have bitten until the inner filling texture.
I would choose Matcha flavour macaron again, should there be any opportunity to do so. Besides Matcha, Lemon tasted OK to me. A bit of the sourish taste mixed with some sweetness. Lemon tasted slightly sweeter than Matcha of course! Passion fruit macaron was so-so to me though.

Macarons: Passion fruit, Matcha & Lemon flavours
All in all, this was how I celebrated mother's day~~ HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY to mothers all around the world yo! ;)

HMD!
After lunch, there was a queue outside the TWG Tea restaurant. We were quite fortunate as we went there around 2pm. There were just a couple of customers at there. I didn't intend to go there, I was thinking of Jap food. However, I was thinking that if I were to have Jap food everytime, it's quite boring & nothing special! I was very satisfied that I chose TWG Tea at a last minute. Don't even need to queue up & the waiters are all very friendly! The service provided was also really good!
My mothers were quite overwhelmed with their friendliness & good services rendered to us.
The women got themselves mesmerised by TWG Tea's specially custom-made 24-carat gold-plated teapot too and each new teapot is sold at RM1500.00. wtf~ o_O
When I'm able to have a villa or a bungalow on my own, I'm gonna have such teapots at my place to serve my guests ^_^

To end the blog for the day, here's some of my outfit & camwhoring! XD

Prague @ Czech Republic: A Charming & A Spectacular Place!

This blogging shall go back in time to Summer 2012. lol~ wtf~

This is the view of Charles Bridge from a boat ride.

Overlooking St. Vitus from afar (left side). On our way to Charles Bridge.

Chance upon a midget Labrador on the bridge itself. lol~ wtf~
St. John of Nepomuk was thrown down below this Charles Bridge by the King for false accusation.
Soon, 5 stars appeared around his head to symbolise that he was innocent.

Anyway, rubbing on the statue is believed to bring u good luck and to bring u back to Prague!:D
One of the 30 statues of the Saint on Charles Bridge

One of the boats on the Vltava River.
Karluv Most it says.
Us on the cobbled stone road

My family & I went to Prague for a European holiday!

When we were at Prague, we started our journey by taking the Royal Walk from Karluv Most (Charles Bridge) in order to get to Prazsky hrad (Prague Castle).

Karluv in Czech language    = Charles in English
Most in Czech language      = Bridge in English
Prazsky in Czech language = Prague in English
hrad in Czech language       = Castle in English

Because it's too amazinggg...believe me, it's super crowded with tourists and pickpockets (that was what I've read from reviews, lucky me, nothing happens to us while we were there) too! So beware!

We made our journey through the cobbled stones road, just like the royal family who once took. :D

The places of interest were packed with a lot of tourists as they were attraction sites for the tourists! Along the walkway, if one felt hungry, one could just stop by the restaurants for a meal or a drink. ;)

As for us, we stopped by the USchnellu Restaurant for lunch! The food there was great!

Me with the English version food menu
Homemade Roasted Sausage with French Fries & Mustard...looks simple & yummm!
It came with the homemade cake
USchnellu Restaurant at Karluv Most vicinity
After that, we made our journey to walk up to the castle ground by following the signboard. We took the ones with lots of staircase before reaching the castle complex. One could see the view of Petrin Hill & the Observation Tower from the castle ground. It was really lovely!
There was this scenic Prague view too. (i love this scenic view as I've always seen this from the movies but now I get to capture it with my very own eyes!)

The whole castle area is actually made up of a complex, which it is NOT a castle on its own, like many other castles in the world. It consisted of a few buildings which made it a complex. So, don't be confused by the name "castle". The building doesn't really look like a castle too. hehe..

One may need to enter the complex first to buy the entrance ticket to all other buildings. Before that, one would be able to see the humongous charming, magnificent St. Vitus building after going through a short tunnel (looks a bit like the twin tower from afar)! And if one is lucky enough and the time is right, you'll be able to watch the castle's change of guards.

There were a few types of tickets for the entrance which came with a selected entrances for the castle complex buildings.

We purchased the ones which allowed 4 entrances: Old Royal Palace, St. George Basilica, Golden Lane and St. Vitus Cathedral.
Do not spend too much time at a place, especially when you're there in the afternoon, as we realised that we did not have enough time to spend for the last entrance as it was about to close! wtf~
This made me think back on those times when I was sitting for my exam papers in school, if I were to dilly-dally on the front questions, I'll end up no time concentrating answering the last few questions, even though they were the simplest questions of them all! LOL~

Display case for the Crown Jewel of Bohemia @ Old Royal Palace

St. Vitus Cathedral
(only half building cause it was too hugeee to capture its whole size, LMAO!)
St. George Basilica
The Golden Lane
As for me, it was too much to see and did not have much time to discover more!
Mainly, we were busy observing the architectural design on the walls, murals and etc. It was really impressive!
After finishing touring the castle complex, while exiting our way, we got to see another spectacular view, the Prague's bridges on Vltava River & Charles Bridge too. So, I suggest you to zoom in with your camera and wowwww, Breathtaking!
We had a walk at the Garden on the Ramparts too. Very greenery & refreshing! :)

Take 01: The breathtaking view!
Take 02: The another breathtaking view!
All in all, I love to see all of the pre-war, olden-days buildings which were nicely architectured in Prague actually!
I wouldn't grow tired from looking at all these buildings. Nothing to complain and there are definitely a lot of great things to do and see here because I love Prague (in general, I kinda love Europe!). Next mission, I hope I would be able to step foot to America, one fine day!! ;-)
