An Eventful Day to Remember: Ed Sheeran's Divide (÷ ) Concert 2017 at Axiata Stadium Bukit Jalil, Malaysia

In the early May 2017 this year, I learned from the social media and newspapers that Ed Sheeran will be holding a concert on the 14 November 2017 in Malaysia! *woot woot*  

My concert buddy and I decided to attend his concert as the last concert we attended was 2 years ago, The Script concert in Shah Alam, Malaysia. In order to make us happier with life and to celebrate the year, we decided to attend one this year. So, we waited for a couple of weeks for the concert tickets to start selling. On the first day of the selling of the concert tickets, we told ourselves that we would buy them later in the evening after returning home from workplace. However, after an hour or so, we learned that the tickets were all sold out within 30 minutes. Like seriously?! *jaw dropped*  

I love Ed's "Photograph" song so much and also it got featured as the movie soundtrack, "Me Before You" too. Ever since then, I am listening to it at almost every single day in the car while driving to work, even up to today. haha. *crazy me*

Well, I do not know much about Ed Sheeran, except that he is a British solo singer who is very talented. He could play several instruments and perform on his own using a loop pedal. 

With this sold out tickets news that we found out, we decided to let it go. T_T

So one day (about 2 months plus before the concert day), when I was reading the newspapers, I came across that a property developer put up an advertisement related to his concert and stated that they were organising a contest. This has caught my attention and I decided to take a snapshot on it and save it to read it clearer at night. That week itself, I decided to tell and suggested to this concert buddy to just simply join and give this contest a try. All we need to do was to make a short video clip related to Ed. We actually danced unprofessionally for a couple of hours after our morning exercise at the Botanical Gardens (including the planning and practising) and made a fool of ourselves in that clip since we are not professionals to begin with. ;) The clip was hilarious though. She stitched up the clips and added in funny texts based on our shared ideas. Then I submitted in the clip to complete it immediately without further delay as we needed to get friends to help out in the votings (50% based on votings and 50% based on judges decision). We were quite confident that we would win a pair of his concert tickets cause we were in the top 25! :* But there was a bonus prize, since we submitted the clip early to join, the first week itself, we won ourselves his latest 2017 Divide (%) album too. *woot woot* It was happiness when I received the call from the organiser and that the lady, representative of the organiser was indeed very happy to hear my voice of happiness while speaking to her.

Anyway, the rest is history! :D

Thank you, Citizen Setia! We are very contented! Our hearts are full and feel so lucky!

After picking up our prizes and had our dinner with my Uncle, we went back for like a while to wash up before going for the concert.

There was an early opening by Lauv, a new American singer. But we just reached the inner stadium when he was about to finish singing. The queue was long outside.

Thanks Ed Sheeran for the awesome performances! The much anticipated concert (after waiting for 6 freakin' months and 10 days) just ended with a bang!
Loved his live "Photograph" song...I can still remember the repetitive lyrics he sang towards the end of it..."Hearing your whispers through the phone...X2 ...Wait for me to come home" <3 br="">

Guess what, I also love love love his "Happier" song so much and then when we went back home to dig in the album, my buddy found that this song was written by Ed Sheeran himself, Benjamin (not sure whom is it) and Ryan Tedder (OMGGGGGG, my favourite One Republic lead musician). No wonder, we found something in common with our love for this song.

I also love his live "Sing" cause he made us "Tarzan-ing" with him during the concert, which went like this....."Ohhh... ohh..oh...ohh.....oh oh...oh oh...Sing! *Repeat*" hahaha~ It was truly fun!

There were many more songs that I loved too, "Bloodstream", "Shape of You" and etc.

We sprinted all the way to catch our LRT train at the end of the concert which was gonna close in 15 min time before 11pm. hahaha

Truly an eventful day to remember! Yeahhh~

Recently, last Saturday (09 December 2017), a friend of mine living in Sarawak (East Malaysia) messaged me to notify that she saw me in the Chinese local newspaper, Sin Chew Daily, this news is just published (almost a month after the concert). It was sort of a throwback to the newspaper and to me too! This got me really excited and feeling so cool on that weekend! :D
Below is the column of my mini moment and achievement which got featured in the newspaper feeling as a mini celebrity of the day. *hehehe*

My dear friend translated a small section that quoted me about winning this contest which went something like this, "One of the lucky winner jacquline thanks to SP Setia for bringing such an amazing and wonderful concert." 

Thanks to my dear friend for the notification! It somehow reminded me of 13 years ago as I also won an entrance ticket to a 5-star hotel (JW Marriot Hotel- if I remember correctly) to dine and watch Jerry Yen (Taiwanese flower boy heartthrobe) during that time from a Chinese newspaper for Oral B Braun Contest in which she was the one who helped to translate my contest slogan. ;)

We flew down to KL and then hopped onto this Cheetah ERL Express at the KLIA2 airport to meet our friends at the Bandar Tasek Selatan station.

Our friends took us to a restaurant at Sentul, called Lau Heong for lunchie. They said this place is famous and recommended by everyone. My verdict: Yeahhhhh~ Sooo yummy~

It was raining heavily in the afternoon right before the concert. Fortunately it stopped as we reached the stadium. I drove there, still remember the roads to Shah Alam, nearby my first job at Hicom Glenmarie industrial area.

The concert started with a bang, Paint the Town green and they were a group of fans marching in with the green saber lights flags.

The concert ended with a bang too, Hall of Fame song! I especially love the repetitive introduction tune of Hall of Fame, it cannot be found at the normal records of theirs. Only at concert *love*

Music 2015: Jon Bon Jovi in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Jon Bon Jovi was back in town again. He mentioned that he came by here before, back in those days, since 20 years ago.

Today, dated 19th September 2015 was a day I attended the music legend's concert @ Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur. Yayyy~ Though I am not a big fan of his. As I only knew of a few selected famous songs such as "Always" and "It's My Life". Those were the ones that I really know, heard of and love.

My friends enjoyed attending concerts to relax our mind and so, here I am. 

Traveling to KL from Penang just for Jon Bon Jovi's concert. From the KLIA2 airport, we took the Express Railway to Bandar Tasik Selatan to meet with our other friends. Here, we chanced upon the 3D art of a cheetah on the floor.

After meeting up and having our lunch, we went for a stroll and teabreak at KLCC and other malls nearby before going for the concert at night. Above is the KLCC tower. The so called tallest building in Malaysia. ;D

 First time sitting on a brick "chair" at an outdoor stadium and awaiting for the concert opening to begin.

A short clip live on "Livin' on a Prayer" in which I took. It was the closing song and it was really a closing ceremony that ended with a bang! Everyone sang very loudly together in unison. Anyway, the blog can't allow me to upload the whole clip, Otherwise it would be awesome.

It was an awesome night. Although he didn't sing my favourite "Always" song, though I really hoped he would.

Music 2015: Far East Movement in Penang, Malaysia

Everybody yo~ Far East Movement was in da house yo, the hip hop group came all da way from Los Angeles!! *woot woot* *put your hands up in da air yo* ;)

It was in conjunction with the country's national day celebration on the 31st of August 2015. The concert was on the 29th of August 2015, organised by Cuvee Club @ Precinct 10 for the Zero Limits Merdeka Madness. So happy that I won a pair of free concert tickets from Zero Limits Merdeka Madness via facebook contest. Yayyyyy~

Before Far East Movement showed themselves up by performance their famous number of songs for more than an hour, there were other local and international DJs who turned up to entertain us too such as Noize Faktor and etc. in which I do not know. haha~ wtf~

 OMGG...they really just knew how to interact with fans/ audiences. First of all, was the shooting of water gun interaction. Then it came up with the huge yellow balloon ducky tossing (as shown in the above) among the party goers and lastly, Prohgress tossed himself into the crowds (of course I had to shun away and stepped back from the crowds as I do not have so much energy to support him. LOL~ wtf)

It was indeed madness to be able to catch Far East Movement as I've first fell in love with their Like A G6 song......now Imma feeling so fly man~ Currently I love their The Illest, Turn Up The Love and Live My Life songs in which they were some of the songs they performed liveeeeee. :*

Wicked Musical @ Hippodrome Theatre, Birmingham: The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz

While in the UK, I took the opportunity to go for this musical performance called Wicked at the Hippodrome theater in the Birmingham City Centre which my sista bought for me as a gift. :)
I had no idea what it would be all about as I only know from the surface that it's related to the inside story from the Wizard of Oz.
So....it turned out to be an awesome, interesting musical performance! =)
The whole performance lasted for almost 3 hours and was conducted by Dan Jackson~
I particularly like their costume designs (medieval flare dresses/ gowns) and their musical songs too.

The summary of the untold story IMO goes like this (I think the musical performance and the book storyline differ slightly, as informed by google search :P. Anyway, the storyline performance was for an entertainment. So, don't bother that much.):

Glinda, the Good Witch (she studied about magic too and holds a wand in her hand), imo, she's the one who will dress up like a Cinderella. LOL~  She's the rich and pretty girl in school and therefore, everyone looks up high upon her and likes her.

Elphaba, the so called Green Wicked Witch (physically she was borned in green colour and she always dresses in black colour apparel). Since she looks green in colour and also looks differently than others, sure enough this will make ppl around her to despise her, thinking that being friends with her will bring bad lucks to them. Even her father thinks the same cause apparently her mother died during the delivery of her. But then, actually, she is (and still am) a good hearted person.
The wicked witch has a wheel-chair bound sister named Nessarose.
Later, she casted a spell to enable her to walk (that's when Dorothy's red coloured magic shoes came in).
Her sister's love interest, Bog, was turned into a Tin man btw.

Both of them, good and wicked became good friends in university at first as they were also room mates. Then, eventually they became rivals because of having the same love interest for a guy whom both have interest for, Fiyero (who is turned into The Scarecrow, to be disguised later on. That's how it got related to The Wizard of Oz). However, the guy realised that he actually fell for the Wicked (so fairytale. LMAO~).
So, through all these, Glinda's popularity, personality differences, misunderstandings and without confrontation, they became enemies within their hearts and in the eyes of the public.
Lastly, they managed to solve their misunderstandings but Wicked requested Glinda (since they are still good friends) to promise not to expose both of them (Fiyero & Wicked) to the public that they are still alive. Wicked appeared to be killed and vanished along with Fiyero by Glinda.
It ended with the citizens of Oz rejoicing and celebrating while Glinda was actually mourning secretly cause she would never see her good friend again.

Marriage D'amour Piano Piece

I just started to practice again on the piano after stopping for around 11 years. And I've never maintained the piano ever since..so, it's quite out of tune and you might be able to hear some cymbals in the background. haha~

This piece I really love it as it's really sound so soothing to the heart and very sweetly for walking down the wedding aisle!
However, be warned, I'm not Richard Clayderman though & you might tumble and fall upon walking on the aisle after hearing this. LMAO~

The Penang Philharmonic Jazz Orchestra: Once A Month Jazz Music

If you're happened to be traveling to Penang, Malaysia, feel free to arrange your time well for this once a month jazz music by the Penang Philharmonic Jazz Orchestra. 
It's happening at the end of every month and it's free! :D
They are actually practicing their music with live crowds around in order to build up confidence in their musicians! Therefore, attire could be casual or as long as you feel comfortable yourself.

At the time we attended, it was coincided with the International Jazz Music Festival which was on the 30th April!
So, there were duets, quartets, a couple of singers performing in English and also in the Malay languages, percussion ensemble itself and wind orchestra involving woodwind, brass and percussion member families.
The jazz music played were all simply lively & joyful such as the New Orleans, Ballads, Bossa Nova and ABBA! =)

I just newly discover that I love their percussion ensemble music!
It was an awesome night to end the day with~
