Black Canyon Coffee @ Ground Floor, Gurney Plaza: Thai Food at shopping mall Penang

My first time ever trying out at this Black Canyon Coffee outlet. So I went during the late lunch hour and decided to try on the lunch set meal. It came with the main dish (Padthai) and a complimentary bowl of Tom Yam soup with some enoki mushroom (a long, thin white mushrooms). They also have other rice set meals to choose from too.
I then ordered their Thai dessert, Tab Tim Krob to complete off my meal for the day.
IMO, their price was reasonable as in one could get a set meal in around RM20/ person or slightly lesser than that.

#ThaiCharKueyTeow. the fried Thai noodle slightly on the watery part though. Otherwise, taste not bad.
Till here for some Thai food! ;)

Ben's @ St. Jo, Ground Floor of Gurney Paragon

The place was quite packed with lots of customers during the peak hours e.g. lunch, dinner time. So, advisable to go earlier, to avoid those peak hours.
As for reservation, I don't feel like making reservation everytime going for a meal. I prefer walking in to a restaurant at any time of the day. I heard that it has the same management with Delicious, the one at Straits Quay, not sure it was true though.
Environment was comfy & classic, well decorated too! One could even play an ice-breaking game with their partner from the game cards prepared on each dined-in table.

We ordered a few items so that we could share and taste most of the dishes. I love the most was Pad Thai spaghetti, and it tasted a bit like Char Kuey Teow but in Thai style and in Thai noodle.

The soft shell crab tortilla tasted good too!

Spicy Creamy Soft Shell Crab Spaghettini
(It tasted nice when it's hot and after gulping half of it, one will feel very filling. Recommended to share out)

As for the dessert, we ordered Rocky Road Choco Peanut Cake. It was good at first bite, but because we were all feeling too full, after a few spoonful, we were all couldn't gulp in anymore spoonful as we think it was too sweet in the end.

Anyway, the food was kinda pricey~ But since the food was good, then it's all good. Of course, I won't try to visit every day. That's crazy.
Cause too good food are not good for daily consumption & bad for our health! ;-)

Hyderabad, India: Local Indian Delicacies

I will share with y'all some Indian delicacies which I was experiencing in a homestay in Hyderabad, India for an approximately of 6 weeks. Some Indian dishes are homecooked by the Indian caretaker or some are eaten at the Indian restaurants (I found that the food restaurants are usually called "hotel", it is not a place to stay but rather a place to eat and I'm not quite sure about the reason) and some could be found at the mall like KFC, McD (Indian food break-free on weekends). :P
To be honest, it was really a great adventure and experience to be staying in India for this long period of time! The populations are really high, packed with lots of poor ppl and average working class ppl. It's like I'm out from a comfort zone, unlike traveling to countries which are developed and more hygienic. Even my daily drinking water was always obtained from the RO source and not from the tap water.

Homecooked meal (by the Indian caretaker from Calcutta): #rice #currychicken #dhal (thick lentil stew) #curd (this seemed to be their staple dish, mixed with rice like eating porridge - If one is not used to it, one won't be able to like it) #papadum (a thin, crisp disc-shaped Indian food typically based on a seasoned dough made from black gram, fried or cooked with dry heat) #cucumber

One of the variety dishes of homecooked meal: #papadum

The too healthy cafetaria lunch meal in the company: #vegetarianmeal #capati #papadum (different types in yellow, cracker-like) #curd #dhal #chutney (fruit/vege pickle) #currygravy #banana

Somp (sugar coated herbs)...to be eaten after food to help in digestion.
Looks like eating cocoons.

A daily cuppa~~
Everything here is related to herbs. Even the tea also "bermasalah" (problematic). Lol~
It's masala (a type of herbs) tea with foamy milk.. After a cuppa, one will feel more fresh & honest!

Homecooked Indian-style Fried pasta with a twist of Indian style (pepperish & herbs )& a glass of guava juice

So much so fr the smell of a burnt homecooked food:
Beriyani chicken rice & milk vege to top it off on the rice

Breakfast: Homemade capati stuffed potato vege curry by the Indian caretaker (from Calcutta) with a glass of apple juice (my favourite so far)

Indian KFC: #chickenburger #chickendrumstick #pepsi (small sized cup although it's regular)

Indian sweet dessert: kheer (it looks icky and tasted ok, just like eating porridge except that it was a sweety feeling)

Ramoji Cafe: Chinese style fried rice & noodle plus two other vege gravy dishes  (the meal was really salty & pricey)

McD: Chicken McGrill set (small)
#cokefloat (yummyy)
McD: Chicken McGrill (the interior in green sauce - i think it's the green curry-like mayonnaise sauce)

Homemade Capati (my favourite) with stuffed vege & diced potatoe curry.

Hotel Shadab (restaurant), Hyderabad: Tandoori Chicken

Capati & currychicken @ one of the Indian colleague's house : Sitting on the carpeted flooring with plates & food on the carpet as well
Catering food @ the company: Capati with some curry dishes

Indian Dessert : tasted like sponge (Bob square pants). LOL!

One of those sweet Indian delicacies: Jilebi
(It sounded to me as chill ,chill, baby chill)
Indian dessert: Dadu (first bite tasted so-so, however the bites thereafter were felt really too sweet. I think Indians really enjoy eating food that are either too sweet or too spicy)

Dadu (first bite tasted so-so, however the bites thereafter were really too sweet)
Blushberry Frapp (Greatly Recommended if one happened to travel to India). The frapp is wayyyy awesome than the frapp in Starbucks and Coffee Bean. With crunchy cereals, chunky cheese cake feeling and strawberry taste, topped with whipped cream.

Indian KFC: 2 pieces chicken with fries #pepsi

Brownies Sundae (Greatly Recommended). Only @ KFC, India

Indian pastry: Samosa (stuffed with potato vege inside) with green chilli - even eating without the green chili, it was super spicy. my tolerance of spiciness has dropped drastically.

Some Indian tea for carry back home: flavourful tea with #masala #cardamom #ginger

Indian pastry for carry back home: Karachi bakery
Karachi Bakery: I greatly recommend this Osmania biscuits, cheap, tasted simple with saltish taste. It's really nice!
